Waveform Monitor for iPhone Video
A waveform shows how brightness is distributed across your frame — the same scope used on cinema and broadcast monitors. CinePro renders a live 128-bin luminance waveform while you shoot.
Real-time 128-column scope
Each column represents a vertical slice of the image; height shows brightness. The overlay refreshes every 0.2 seconds so you can react as you adjust ISO, shutter speed, and exposure compensation.
How to enable
Open the monitor tools panel from the left toolbar and toggle Waveform. It works alongside the histogram, zebra stripes, false color, and focus peaking — no Apple Log recording required.
When to use waveform vs histogram
- Waveform — See which part of the frame (left to right) is bright or dark
- Histogram — See the overall brightness distribution at a glance
- Zebra / false color — Highlight clipping or exposure zones directly on the picture
Together they form a complete pocket-sized monitoring toolkit for iPhone filmmakers.
